Baked chips

*If you're baking fries instead of chips, going off of the thickness of a wooden pencil, bake at 410 degrees for 30-50 minutes.
-1 Lb russet potato, sliced the thickness of 2 quarters stacked together
-1/2 tsp oregano, dried(optional)
-1/2 tsp pepper(optional
-1/4 tsp pepper flakes(optional)
-1/4 tsp garlic granules or powder(optional)
*Some chips baked a little quicker than the others, so even if you cut them all the same, still check them after an hour to be the judge. You want them lightly brown, to where they just turn crisp, but that’s also where you can be the judge.
*Shred some cheddar over the top as they finish baking if you'd like.
*To help them crisp up a little more, drizzle some olive oil over the top of them. Keep an eye on them so they don't burn.
*Vinegar & sea salt is a good combination as well.
1. If you're just hanging out doing chores around the house, go ahead and let your russet potato(s) soak in some water. Take your potato and peel it. Slice the potato the thickness of a couple of quarters stacked together and throw them into your bowl.
2. Sprinkle a little bit of sea salt over the top of your chips and then cover them with water. After they soak for at least 30 minutes, pour them through a strainer and let most of the water drip away.
3. Place a cloth or towel on the counter and throw your chips inside. Seal up the corners and shake them around a little bit to help them dry.
4. Preheat your oven to 385 degrees as you place them on your baking rack. Sprinkle your seasonings to taste and let bake for 1 hour. They could go longer, so you be the judge but they should take around 50 minutes to 1 hour and 20 minutes. Let cool before serving and Enjoy!
